Richard Moore, the new head of the UK’s SIS, the Secret Intelligence Service, has put out a call for those with disabilities to join the intelligence community. He is broadening the diversity of skills and backgrounds at MI6 beyond “inspiring” women spies. The woman behind the idea is his blind wife who helped build the Turkish Guide Dogs Association when they were posted to Turkey. This hiring plea builds on the already established Scooter Unit within MI6 that brings awareness of disabilities to the intelligence community.

MI6 sister agency, MI5 has been hiring disabled people since at least WW 2 to take down its enemies and last year won an award for developing awareness of those with disabilities in the workplace.
