Write On Bowen

July 14, 2021 by Diane Greig

I’ll be part of the Write on Bowen Festival this year (2021) speaking about Invisible Women: The Podcast based on my interviews of WW 2 women spies in 2004/5.

I’ll read a selection from one of the episodes; these narratives of undercover women who fought behind the lines reveal multi-faceted capable women who demonstrated courage, creative problem solving, physical strength and more. Left out of recorded history until recently, these stories help balance the record, debunk the stereotype, but just as important, they are interesting, thoughtful reflections by women on war and espionage in daily life behind and on enemy lines.

The Write on Bowen Festival takes place August 7 & 8 on Bowen Island, in Howe Sound near Vancouver. To find out more and to register to attend, see details on their website.
